If it sounds like bore-water staining or a bridged damp course, we will say so on the phone.

What it helps to have ready

A photograph of the wall taken square-on, including the floor line, is worth more than any description. If you know roughly when the house was built and whether it is limestone, double brick or rendered, mention it. If a building inspection flagged the damp, the report is the single most useful thing you can send.

What we will not do
